Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced a partnership with the Uttar Pradesh transport department to automate 12 additional driving license test tracks across the state. This development adds to the five tracks that have already been automated as part of a December 2023 agreement.

The new automated tracks are located in cities such as Aligarh, Azamgarh, and Meerut, covering tests for two-wheeler, light motor vehicle, and heavy motor vehicle licenses. The automation aims to make license issuance more scientific, transparent, and efficient.

According to Executive Director Rahul Bharti, this automation will play a crucial role in regulating road safety by ensuring that only competent drivers receive licenses, ultimately reducing road accidents. The tracks feature high-definition cameras and a fully computerized system for transparent testing.
