Villagers from Maharashtra's Latur district have temporarily ended their hunger strike after being assured of intervention by BJP MLA Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar regarding the realignment of a local highway.
The protest, initiated on Monday by residents of Sakol and neighboring villages, demanded the rerouting of State Highway 145 to relieve local inconveniences.
Nilangekar has vowed to discuss the issue with Public Works Department Minister Ravindra Chavan. The ceasing of the strike marks a step forward but villagers stress the need for urgent attention to their demands to avoid further escalations.
