Services on the newly inaugurated Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, faced interruptions on Wednesday morning, frustrating passengers due to a technical problem with the door closure system reported at Sahar Road station.
Commuters experienced delays of up to 35 minutes with no updates provided, besides an apology for the inconvenience, leaving office-goers stranded during peak hours. Reports indicate a similar issue occurred earlier, exacerbating commuter frustrations. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has not yet commented on the situation.
The Aqua Line, a 12.69 km stretch from Bandra Kurla Complex to Aarey Colony JVLR, has been operational since Monday, catering to over 20,000 passengers by Tuesday night, according to officials. This line enhances connections from BKC to key locations including Mumbai's domestic and international airports.
