Kolkata Metro Enhances Services for Festive Crowds During Puja

Kolkata Metro will offer all-night services on specific lines during Saptami and Ashtami-Nabami to accommodate Puja festival crowds. Over 100 staff will manage stations, with troubleshooting teams ready for technical issues. Enhanced security measures and monitoring are in place from Panchami to Ekadashi, ensuring passenger safety.

The Kolkata Metro announced extended night-long services on the Blue Line from Dakshineswar to New Garia during the Saptami and Ashtami-Nabami festivities. This move aims to cater to the large crowds expected for the Puja festival celebrations.

On the Green Line, trains will operate until midnight on Line-1 and 1:45 AM on Line-2, offering late-night transport options between Sector Five, Sealdah, Esplanade, and Howrah Maidan. Additional Metro staff will be deployed at busy stations to manage pandal hoppers effectively.

Technical troubleshooting teams will be positioned at key stations, with assistance booths and first-aid posts available. Central control at Metro Rail Bhavan will oversee operations in real-time, supported by increased RPF personnel, QRT, and disaster management teams to maintain safety and order throughout the festive season.
