The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has reported to the Supreme Court, pressing the Delhi government and neighboring states to enforce emission standards strictly. Vehicular pollution has been identified as a significant contributor to poor air quality.

The CAQM's compliance report highlighted that regular certification of vehicle emissions is essential. In just six months, 1.81 lakh challans were issued in Delhi for violations, showing an increase from the previous year.

The commission advises boosting public transport and transitioning to e-mobility. Delhi aims to enhance its charging infrastructure, targeting 18,000 points by 2025-26, while UP and Haryana aim for additional setups to combat air pollution effectively.
