Amneal Pharmaceuticals, a US-based company, announced on Tuesday its plan to invest up to $200 million in India over the next four to five years. This investment will go towards constructing two new manufacturing facilities in Ahmedabad.

According to the company's statement, one facility will specialize in peptide synthesis, while the other will focus on advanced sterile fill-finish manufacturing. This initiative represents the company's continued expansion in the region.

Founded in India in 2008, Amneal Pharmaceuticals currently operates eight manufacturing sites in the country, including five in Ahmedabad. With this latest investment, the company aims to lead in the production of innovative medicines for both local and international markets.
