The future of Britain's HS2 railway project, a focal point for transport improvement discussions, has taken a new turn. Transport minister Louise Haigh suggested that despite previous cutbacks, the railway will extend all the way to central London.

This development follows speculations after the Labour government signaled a review of the terminus plans at Euston. Louise Haigh emphasized the significance of Euston in the HS2 project, indicating an imminent announcement that favors the original plan to avoid disruptions for commuters and business travelers.

Initially, HS2 aimed to connect London with larger cities like Birmingham and Manchester, enhancing rail capacity and cutting travel times. However, financial constraints led to scaling back plans, including the cancellation of its northern extension under the previous administration.
