In a strategic move to enhance its intra-logistics capabilities, Godrej & Boyce has recently announced the acquisition of Armes Maini, a prominent manufacturer of storage shelving systems and mezzanine structures. This acquisition includes Armes Maini's substantial 20,000-ton capacity facility located in Bengaluru.
The acquisition comes at a pivotal time for the logistics industry, which is witnessing rapid growth driven by changing consumption patterns and the rapid expansion of quick commerce platforms. Although Godrej & Boyce has not disclosed the financial details of the acquisition, the company aims to leverage this deal to meet the surging demand for advanced warehousing solutions in the country.
According to Vikas Choudaha, Executive Vice President and Business Head for Storage Solutions at Godrej Enterprises Group, only 40% of current warehousing facilities in India are Grade A. There is an urgent need for sustainable and advanced solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of the country's warehousing infrastructure. This acquisition is set to bolster Godrej's already commanding 30% market share in the storage solution industry.
