In a concerted effort to bolster cooperative societies, Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja underscored their evolving role as a one-stop shop for farmers' needs. The Ministry of Cooperation organized a two-day national review meeting in Bhubaneswar to discuss various initiatives and the ministry's 100-day action plan.

Inaugurated by Ahuja and Ashish Kumar Bhutani, the meeting focused on three major initiatives: formation of new MPACS, Dairy and Fishery Cooperatives, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on 'White Revolution 2.0' and 'Cooperation among Cooperatives'. The aim was to ensure smooth implementation at the village level.

Highlighting the importance of youth participation and modernizing cooperative education, Ahuja emphasized the critical need for strong grassroots institutions. Bhutani stressed the economic impact of cooperatives and the adoption of model bye-laws to enable PACS to engage in 25 new business ventures. The Ministry aims to train 50% of cooperative members in the next five years to further strengthen the cooperative movement.
