Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday conducted a thorough inspection of Central Railway's Wadi Bunder coaching depot in Mumbai, emphasizing improved passenger safety and fostering innovation within the railway system.
The Wadi Bunder depot, operational since 1860, manages over 30 mail-express and Vande Bharat trains. Vaishnaw examined the depot's infrastructure and discussed expansion plans aimed at boosting cleanliness, reliability, and passenger safety.
Praising the depot's innovative cleanliness initiatives, such as the in-house designed litter collector showcased at the 'best from waste' exhibition, Vaishnaw also demonstrated the use of advanced cleaning equipment. He highlighted technological advancements like ultra-sonic air leakage detection systems and the FIBA system for timely train maintenance, underscoring his commitment to passenger comfort and safety.
