Sikkim Government Raises Dearness Allowance by 4% Ahead of Durga Puja
The Sikkim government announced a 4% increase in dearness allowance for its employees, raising it to 50%. This hike, effective January 1, 2024, also applies to pensioners, contract employees, and work-charged establishments.

The Sikkim government has increased the dearness allowance for its employees by four per cent, a move announced ahead of the Durga Puja festival, according to a circular issued by Chief Secretary VB Pathak on Tuesday.
The dearness allowance and dearness relief for pensioners will be raised from the current 46 per cent to 50 per cent, effective from January 1, 2024.
This increase will also be applicable to contractual and work-charged employees drawing revised pay scales as per the state's regular pay structures, the circular stated.
