NTSB Raises Alarm on Boeing 737 Safety Concerns

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued urgent safety recommendations concerning Boeing 737 airplanes, pointing to potential risks in rudder components. The warnings come after an incident involving a United Airlines flight in February.

The NTSB disclosed that two foreign operators experienced similar issues in 2019. NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy expressed concerns that airlines may be unaware of problematic actuators in their 737 aircraft, urging the FAA to take immediate action.

Boeing, already under scrutiny for safety issues, saw its shares fall by 2.7% following the NTSB's announcement. The FAA has committed to additional simulator testing and corrective measures but faced criticism for its delayed response. Some 40 foreign operators are reportedly using affected parts, heightening global aviation safety concerns.
