Inaugurated by Minister Piyush Goyal, this initiative is part of Malabar Group's continued efforts to empower marginalized communities through education, hunger relief, and social welfare projects.

NewsVoir Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 30: Malabar Group, a prominent Indian business conglomerate and parent company of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, has announced its National Scholarship Programme for 2024. The event took place at Bharat Diamond Bourse, BKC, Mumbai, and was inaugurated by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry.

The Group's leadership, including Chairman MP Ahammed, MD India Operations Asher O, Vice-Chairman Abdul Salam K P, Executive Director Nishad AK, and Director Shaunak Parikh, were present to mark this significant milestone in their CSR initiative. The programme will allocate Rs. 16 crore to support the education of over 21,000 girl students across India.

Speaking about the initiative, MP Ahammed stated, 'Education is the most powerful tool to change the world. Our scholarship programme reflects Malabar Group's belief that education unlocks opportunities and transforms lives. We are committed to removing barriers for young girls to fulfil their educational aspirations and contribute meaningfully to society.'

Since its inception, Malabar Group has maintained a strong commitment to inclusive growth. This scholarship programme, launched in 2007, has invested over Rs. 60 crore, benefiting more than 95,000 girl students to date. The Group's Hunger-Free World Project also addresses food security, distributing 50,000 daily food packets across India and 10,000 in Zambia.

Additionally, the Grandma Home project offers free accommodation for destitute women, with homes operational in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and plans to expand to other major cities. Malabar Group continues to focus on impactful initiatives like education and hunger relief, demonstrating its dedication to sustainable community empowerment.
