Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday dedicated the Bidkin Industrial Area (BIA) in Maharashtra to the nation. The Prime Minister joined the event virtually, marking a significant milestone in the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.

Located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, the industrial hub is strategically positioned to boost economic growth in the Marathwada region. Bidkin Industrial Area, spanning 7,855 acres, offers excellent connectivity with NH-752E, the Samruddhi Mahamarg, Aurangabad railway station, Aurangabad Airport, and Jalna Dry Port.

The project, approved at a total cost of Rs 6,414 crore, will be developed in three phases, with Phase A prioritized at Rs 2,427 crore. The Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) drives this initiative, a 51:49 partnership between Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT). Significant investments have been attracted from companies like Ather Energy, Lubrizol, Toyota-Kirloskar, and JSW Green Mobility, promising over 30,000 jobs. PM Modi underscored that Bidkin will become a beacon of industrial excellence, generating employment, boosting exports, and contributing to regional development.
