Minister Goyal Discusses PLI Benefits and Future Prospects with 140 Companies

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal engaged with 140 companies benefiting from the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme, anticipating investments of over Rs 2 lakh crore and creation of 12 lakh jobs. The scheme aims to boost domestic manufacturing across 14 sectors with an outlay of Rs 1.97 lakh crore.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held comprehensive discussions with companies benefiting from the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme on Sunday.

Goyal interacted with 140 out of 1,300 manufacturing units spread across 14 sectors, revealing projected investments exceeding Rs 2 lakh crore under the scheme.

Originally estimated to create 8.5 lakh jobs, the PLI scheme could now generate approximately 12 lakh jobs, according to the latest projections shared by Goyal.
