Amazon India has entered into a significant agreement with the Labour and Employment Ministry to list available job opportunities on the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
The MoU, initially set for two years, will enable registered job seekers to explore and apply for roles at Amazon.
Amazon, the first e-commerce company to partner with the Ministry for the NCS portal, aims to link aspiring individuals with career opportunities that align with their skills and qualifications.
The NCS portal boasts over 60 lakh active job seekers and 33.50 lakh active employers, making it a robust platform for connecting job providers and seekers across various levels in the rapidly growing e-commerce sector.
Union Minister of Labour & Employment Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted that this collaboration would increase the visibility of work opportunities at Amazon and help achieve a pan-India one-stop employment portal.
The upgraded NCS portal will soon feature advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence to provide a more user-friendly interface for job seekers, employers, and stakeholders.
The collaboration will also include organising job fairs at Model Career Centres (MCCs), allowing job seekers to interact with Amazon's recruitment teams directly.
Additionally, the MoU prioritises inclusivity by promoting job opportunities for women and divyang candidates.
Amazon India employs over 1.2 lakh people across various roles and recently announced over 1,10,000 seasonal job opportunities ahead of its festive season sale.
