An Iraqi Airways flight en route from Baghdad to Guangzhou made an emergency landing at Kolkata airport late Wednesday after a 16-year-old on board fell critically ill, officials reported.
The young passenger, Deran Samir Ahmed, was declared 'brought dead' upon arrival at a local hospital despite urgent medical attention by airport authorities. The diversion occurred about 30 minutes before the flight's scheduled landing.
Subsequently, the flight resumed its journey to Guangzhou with the remaining passengers after a brief delay.
