Essar's GreenLine Mobility Solutions has announced a significant collaboration with Sterlite Copper to deploy Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) powered vehicles.

The partnership was marked by the deployment of LNG trucks at Vedanta's Sterlite Copper Plant in Silvassa, according to a company statement.

These LNG trucks will transport finished goods to the northern region using a reverse logistics model, enhancing logistics efficiency and reducing carbon emissions significantly.

Boasting a 40-tonne payload capacity and a range of up to 1,200 kilometers on a single tank, GreenLine's LNG trucks are set to revolutionize the transportation sector, a statement by CEO Anand Mimani highlighted. GreenLine seeks to integrate LNG technology into diverse industries, driving decarbonisation forward.

GreenLine's LNG vehicles reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30% and significantly minimize other harmful emissions compared to traditional diesel trucks. So far, the fleet has traveled over 22 million kilometers, resulting in a 6,000-tonne reduction in emissions.
