Tragedy in the Sky: Iraqi Teen Dies En Route to China

An Iraqi Airways flight from Baghdad to Guangzhou made an emergency landing at Kolkata airport due to a 16-year-old girl falling ill. Despite immediate medical attention, she was declared dead at the hospital. The flight later resumed its journey.

An Iraqi Airways flight from Baghdad to Guangzhou was forced to make a medical emergency landing at Kolkata airport on Wednesday after a teenage passenger fell gravely ill on board. The 16-year-old girl, identified as Deran Samir Ahmed, was declared dead upon arrival at a local hospital.

The flight IA-473, carrying 100 passengers and 15 crew members, diverted to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, landing at 10:18 pm. A medical team immediately attended to the young passenger but found no pulse and no heartbeat.

Following necessary formalities, the teenager and her two co-passengers were taken to a private hospital by an Airports Authority of India (AAI) ambulance. Unfortunately, the hospital confirmed she was brought in dead. The flight continued to its destination at 1:49 am.
