The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), Italy's National Promotional Institution, to enhance cooperation in sustainable finance, climate initiatives, and energy transition efforts. This agreement is a significant move towards tackling pressing global issues like climate change and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key areas of focus for this partnership include:

Investment in Green Projects: Facilitating financial opportunities in green, low-carbon initiatives.

Innovative Financing Solutions: Promoting creative financing methods to bridge the funding gap for the SDGs.

Global Cooperation: Strengthening collaboration in international networks and forums to align financial strategies with the SDGs and the Paris Agreement.

Marcos Neto, UN Assistant Secretary General and Director of UNDP’s Bureau for Policy and Programme Support emphasized the importance of this partnership: "Collaborating with CDP is a vital step towards realizing the vision set forth in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Through this partnership, we are opening avenues for innovative financing solutions that promote climate action, sustainable finance, and youth empowerment, ensuring inclusivity in our efforts."

Paolo Lombardo, Director of International Development Cooperation at CDP, reinforced the commitment to impactful collaboration: “Working together with the UN Development Programme is essential for implementing projects that contribute meaningfully to the 2030 SDGs. By enhancing our partnership, we can develop innovative financing solutions that amplify global efforts in climate action and sustainable development.
