Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Wednesday announced an increase in minimum wages, setting Rs 18,066 for unskilled, Rs 19,929 for semi-skilled, and Rs 21,917 for skilled workers in the unorganized sector.

In her first press conference as Delhi CM, Atishi highlighted that the AAP government, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, has implemented some of the highest minimum wages for city laborers in the country.

Targeting the BJP, she accused them of being 'anti-poor' and pointed out that the minimum wages in BJP-ruled states were significantly lower. She reaffirmed that the Kejriwal government not only upheld court-mandated minimum wages but also ensured their bi-annual revision despite facing opposition from the BJP.
