Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has announced plans to launch a new air train to provide seamless connectivity for passengers between Terminal 1 and the airport's two other terminals.
Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), operating as the busiest airport in the country, currently connects its three terminals—T1, T2, and T3—via roadways. The new Automated People Mover (APM) system aims to revolutionize this by offering an elevated cum at-grade transit that spans 7.7 km, including aerocity and cargo city.
This initiative is expected to significantly boost passenger convenience, improve airport service quality (ASQ) scores, and reduce the carbon footprint. Although a tender has been issued, specific details about the bidding deadline and eligibility criteria have yet to be disclosed.
