Several trains were cancelled and many diverted in Bihar's Bhagalpur district on Sunday as flood water reached the girder of a bridge, according to a statement from the East Central Railway.

The railway department confirmed that flood water touched the girder of bridge 195 between Sultanganj and Ratanpur stations at 11.45 pm on Saturday, leading to the cancellations and diversions of multiple train routes in the Jamalpur-Bhagalpur division.

The affected services include the Patna-Dumka Express, Saraigarh-Deoghar Special, Jamalpur-Kiul Memu Special, and Bhagalpur-Danapur Intercity Express. Additionally, trains like the Ajmer-Bhagalpur Express and Anand Vihar-Malda Town Express were diverted. Meanwhile, a train engine derailed at Muzaffarpur Junction, though services were restored within an hour.
