Thane's Vital Role in Maharashtra's USD 1.5 Trillion Economy Vision

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday outlined a comprehensive roadmap to transform the state into a USD 1.5 trillion economy by 2047. During his address at the MMR Thane Development Conference 2024, Shinde stressed the pivotal role Thane will play in reaching this ambitious target.
Shinde revealed that his administration, with inputs from the NITI Aayog, has identified eight strategic areas crucial for economic advancement. A robust mechanism, including monthly reviews and dedicated war rooms, has been put in place to ensure proactive progress in these areas, which encompass AI and robotics, global capacity centres, and data centres.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of ongoing infrastructure projects such as the Atal Setu, the coastal road, and the eastern freeway. He also mentioned the imminent tests at the Navi Mumbai international airport and plans to enhance air connectivity to Palghar, alongside establishing a mega port in Vadhvan near Dahanu—all aimed at bolstering regional growth.
