Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 21: Prof. Frank D'Souza's esteemed book 'Lyric Poetry' has recently been published, thanks to the painstaking efforts of his daughter, Dr. Daphne D'Souza Pillai. The book delves into the depth and beauty of lyric poetry, covering themes from love to war.

Originally entrusted to Dr. Daphne before Prof. Frank's passing in 1986, this publication has been a long journey of dedication. With its roots in the 1970s, Prof. Frank's book explores the nature and origins of lyric poetry through meticulously handwritten manuscripts, some in Greek and Latin.

Dr. Daphne highlighted the immense challenges faced, including deciphering her father's handwriting and tracking down lost verses. This endeavor spanned six years, culminating during the pandemic. Her daughter, Minerva Pillai, contributed a foreword, reflecting on the personal and emotional significance of this tribute to Prof. Frank's legacy.

Prof. Frank began his academic journey in 1938 at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. His contributions to literature were recognized by former student Dr. K.M. Vasudevan Pillai, who was instrumental in the book's publication.
