Two men lost their lives after their SUV was submerged in a flooded underpass in Old Faridabad on Friday night. The victims, identified as Viraj (26) and Punyashray Sharma (48), disregarded barricades warning of the waterlogged passage.
Despite warnings from police officers, the duo attempted to navigate the flooded underpass around 11:50 pm. Water began to rush into the car, trapping them inside. Passersby managed to extract them after considerable effort, but it was too late; Viraj died on the spot, while Sharma was pronounced dead at the hospital.
