The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) reported a significant 13.32% rise in new subscribers, adding 22.53 lakh in July 2024, compared to last year's figures, as per the payroll data released on Friday.

According to the labour ministry's latest payroll data, 19.88 lakh new subscribers were added in July 2023. This year's provisional data indicates a notable increase in registrations.

A substantial 56,476 new establishments were also included under the ESI Scheme, expanding its social security reach. Additionally, nearly half of the new employees added in July 2024 were under the age of 25, showcasing a youthful workforce. Gender-wise analysis revealed that 4.65 lakh new female members were enrolled, along with 71 transgender employees, reflecting ESIC's commitment to inclusivity.
