According to a recent analysis by the Delhi transport department, the stretch from Punjabi Bagh junction to Netaji Subhash Place Metro Station interchange has emerged as a high-risk corridor. This area recorded five pedestrian deaths per kilometre and saw 13 crashes involving pedestrians.

Following closely, the stretch from Punjabi Bagh to Peeragarhi Chowk reported four pedestrian deaths per kilometre and recorded 16 crashes. The 2022 Delhi Road Crash Fatalities Report, released by the Delhi government, also found that 50% of road crash victims in 2022 were pedestrians, while 45% were two or three-wheeler drivers and passengers.

Additional high-risk corridors include Ghazipur Road, Deshbandhu Gupta Road, and others. Notably, Mukarba Chowk, Kashmere Gate Metro Station, and several intersections continue to pose safety risks. Police and local authorities are urged to use this data for making informed decisions to mitigate crash-prone spots.
