Heavy rainfall in the national capital on Thursday led to severe traffic congestion in various areas, including east and west Delhi, due to waterlogging. Notable locations affected include India Gate, Janpath Road, R K Puram, and Connaught Place, among others.
Delhi Traffic Police used social media platform X to inform the public about the traffic disruptions. They highlighted specific problem areas such as Old Pankha Road, GTK Road, MB Road, and Najafgarh Road where waterlogging and potholes severely impacted vehicle movement. Ongoing work by the Bombay Suburban Electric Supply was also noted to contribute to congestion.
Commuters like Rohit Tomar and Gaurav Kumar reported significant delays, especially near key locations like the IHBAS hospital and various metro stations. The ongoing rain and resultant traffic snarls added considerable delay to their travel time, affecting both daily commutes and important engagements.
