Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, today launched the Trade Connect e-Platform, a single-window digital initiative aimed at revolutionizing international trade for Indian exporters. During the launch event in New Delhi, Goyal emphasized that this platform will help India tap into new global markets and significantly increase the country's share in international trade.

Shri Goyal stated that the platform is designed to empower small Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), businesses, and entrepreneurs by providing them with valuable insights into global trade opportunities and the benefits of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). He highlighted the importance of identifying new opportunities in the world market and expressed confidence that the platform would play a crucial role in achieving India's ambitious target of $1 trillion in both merchandise and services exports by 2030.

The platform, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME, EXIM Bank, the Department of Financial Services (DFS), and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), provides exporters with access to key trade-related data, including market insights, tariff guides, and trade agreements. It also connects users to critical government entities such as Indian Missions abroad, Export Promotion Councils, and other trade experts. Over 6 lakh Importer Exporter Code (IEC) holders, 180 Indian Mission officials, and 600 Export Promotion Council officials are connected to the platform.

Goyal praised the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for its role in creating the platform, describing it as a forward-thinking tool that simplifies global trade for exporters. He also mentioned plans for future enhancements, including a multilingual version to make the platform more accessible across India.

With features such as Product and Country Guides, Trade Agreement Explorers, Global E-Commerce Guides, and EXIM Paathshala, the platform aims to reduce the complexities and costs associated with international trade. By connecting with initiatives like the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, the Trade Connect e-Platform is set to foster greater synergies and support Indian exporters in expanding their reach globally.

This initiative is part of the government’s broader vision of Digital India, focusing on transparency, efficiency, and economic growth by facilitating easier access to global markets for Indian businesses.
