Liquid Expands Fibre Network, Enhances Digital Connectivity Between Kenya and Uganda

The upgrade enhances 99.99% uptime availability for services between Mombasa and the Ugandan border, positioning Liquid as a leader in the region's digital transformation.

In a significant milestone, Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies, has announced the upgrade of its 1,300 km fibre route connecting Mombasa on Kenya's east coast to Busia on the Ugandan border. This development brings additional multi-terabit capacity and enhanced resilience, boosting digital connectivity across the region and supporting several East African nations with more efficient and reliable networks.

The upgrade enhances 99.99% uptime availability for services between Mombasa and the Ugandan border, positioning Liquid as a leader in the region's digital transformation. This expanded capacity allows for increased high-speed data traffic, providing critical support for businesses and economic development.

Kenya is emerging as a leading digital hub in East Africa, with multiple undersea cable providers docking in Mombasa. Liquid’s expanded fibre route complements its existing terrestrial routes, further strengthening the region's connectivity capabilities.

Utilizing advanced technology, the new fibre route is designed to carry several terabits of data, making it scalable for retail, enterprise, home, and wholesale customers. It also positions Liquid to support international hyperscalers looking to tap into Africa's growing market.

The new route not only boosts capacity but also strengthens land and undersea networks, ensuring seamless service even during potential disruptions. Liquid monitors the route closely to maintain uninterrupted service.
