The government on Wednesday introduced the Trade Connect ePlatform, aimed at delivering comprehensive information on exports and imports. This new portal is expected to benefit both seasoned and new entrepreneurs.

Developed collaboratively by the Ministry of MSME, EXIM Bank, TCS, Department of Financial Services (DFS), and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the portal serves as a one-stop solution for various trade-related queries.

Launching the portal, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized its role in offering vital info such as customs duties, regulations, and more. Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Santosh Kumar Sarangi remarked that it provides real-time access to critical trade data and seamlessly links exporters with key government entities.

The platform aims to assist businesses at every stage of their export journey and will connect over 6 lakh IEC holders, numerous government officials, and trade experts. The portal will be regularly updated, incorporating stakeholder feedback for its second version in 2025, which will include additional services like banking, insurance, and logistics. Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal stated the platform will serve as 'a ChatGPT for exporters' and is crucial in achieving the goal of USD 2 trillion exports by 2030.
