CEAT Ltd has officially launched a new production line for truck and bus radial tires at its Chennai manufacturing facility. This new line is set to progressively reach a production capacity of 1,500 tires per day over the next year, marking a pivotal milestone in CEAT's goals to extend its presence in global markets, the company announced on Wednesday.

The company, which already manufactures passenger car and motorcycle radial tires, is focusing on high-performance vehicle markets both domestically and internationally. The rollout ensures CEAT Ltd remains competitive in these burgeoning markets.

CEAT Ltd Managing Director and CEO Arnab Banerjee highlighted the strategic importance of the new line, emphasizing the company's commitment to delivering innovative solutions globally. The substantial Rs 670 crore investment at the Chennai plant, which began operations in February 2020, raises the total investment in the facility to Rs 2,970 crore. The facility is also set to boost its renewable energy use from 40% to 50% in the next 18 months.
