In the wake of a suspected sabotage attempt on the Kalindi Express in Kanpur, the Delhi Police have heightened security measures and placed railway staff on high alert.
An alert train driver prevented a major accident by halting the Bhiwani-Prayagraj Kalindi Express, which hit an LPG cylinder on the tracks. Petrol and matchboxes found at the site have fueled suspicions of foul play, leading the Kanpur Police to file an FIR.
Heightened vigilance extends to the Delhi Metro, with increased patrolling and anti-sabotage checks becoming routine. Several individuals have been detained for questioning, as a multi-agency investigation, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Uttar Pradesh Police, delves into potential terror links.
