Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) on Wednesday confirmed it has entered into a concession agreement with the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) to develop Berth No. 13 at Deendayal Port, Kandla, Gujarat.

APSEZ has established a wholly-owned subsidiary named DPA Container and Clean Cargo Terminal Limited (DPACCCTL) to oversee the operations at the new berth. The berth is set to handle multipurpose cargo and is slated for commissioning in FY27.

In July 2024, APSEZ received the Letter of Intent for the berth's development, operation, and maintenance for a concession period lasting 30 years. The project will be executed under the DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer) model, focusing on multipurpose clean cargo, including container cargo. The new berth, measuring 300 meters in length, will have an annual capacity of 5.7 million metric tons and will bolster the company's service offerings on the western coast of India, particularly in Gujarat and northern regions.
