Executives from the semiconductor industry praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and leadership during an exclusive roundtable at his residence, ahead of SEMICON India 2024. The meeting highlighted unprecedented government-industry collaboration in the semiconductor sector.

Sanjay Mehrotra, CEO of Micron, lauded Modi's vision for developing semiconductors in India, describing the policy framework as 'exciting and timely' amid AI growth. Ajit Manocha, CEO of SEMI, emphasized Modi's exceptional leadership, saying it has inspired global confidence in India's semiconductor ambitions.

Other industry leaders, including Kurt Sievers of NXP and Bob Pragada of Jacobs, echoed similar sentiments, with Sievers noting Modi's deep expertise in the semiconductor field. Meanwhile, Renesas CEO Hidetoshi Shibata and IMEC's Luc Van Den Hove commended the Prime Minister's clear and strategic vision, predicting significant future advancements in the sector.

Additional endorsements came from CEOs like Russell C Ellwanger of Tower and Anirudh Devgan of Cadence, who highlighted the rapid progress under Modi's leadership. Synopsys CEO Sassine Ghazi and Stanford's Arogyaswami Paulraj pointed to the focused strategy and energetic drive behind India's semiconductor mission, predicting local and global impacts.

Vellayan Subbiah of CG Power and UCSD Chancellor Pradeep Khosla concluded that Modi's administration has set a new precedent in semiconductor policy, confident in India's burgeoning role on the global stage.
