Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, highlighted the strengthening bond between India and the UAE as a defining relationship of the decade and beyond during the UAE-India Business Forum held in Mumbai today. The event also featured addresses from His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade.

Shri Goyal emphasized that the India-UAE partnership is anchored in innovation, investment, and sustainable development. Celebrating the occasion of the Ganpati Festival, he noted that the Crown Prince’s visit marks a promising new chapter in the bilateral ties.

The Minister praised the ongoing high-level exchanges, noting that the Crown Prince’s visit is the sixth such visit in less than a year, reflecting the robust and evolving relationship between the two nations. He underscored that this partnership aligns with UAE’s 50-year vision and India’s Viksit Bharat@2047 transformational journey led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shri Goyal also commended joint initiatives to boost trade, including local currency settlement mechanisms, the establishment of Bharat Mart in JAFZA (Jebel Ali Free Zone), Dubai, and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). He highlighted the role of technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in furthering the partnership and urged stakeholders to explore new investment opportunities and trade possibilities.

Acknowledging the leadership of the Crown Prince, Shri Goyal praised the transformative changes under his guidance and described the India-UAE relationship as enduring and unbreakable. He also noted the historic significance of the Crown Prince’s visit to Rajghat, where he planted a sapling, continuing a family tradition of leadership and commitment.

The forum’s theme, ‘Beyond CEPA: Innovation and Future-Ready Economies,’ focused on the potential of sectors such as healthcare, biotechnology, renewable energy, and sustainability.
