The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) has signaled interest in establishing an office in Bengaluru, according to Karnataka's Large and Medium Industries Minister, MB Patil. The decision came during a meeting on Monday, where a high-level delegation, led by SBF Vice Chairman Prasoon Mukherjee, pitched the idea of creating a 'Singapore in Bengaluru' if provided state cooperation.

The delegation highlighted SBF's expertise and investment potential, assuring the minister of their capability to realize this vision. Minister Patil responded favorably, promising the government's support with essential infrastructure such as land, water, power, and connectivity.

"We will stay in continuous touch with SBF to facilitate their investment in the state," Patil noted. He also invited SBF entrepreneurs to participate in Karnataka's flagship event, the 'Global Investors Meet', set for February 12-14, 2025.

The delegation included representatives from Applied Total Control (ATC) Treatment Pte. Ltd., Biomed Services Pte. Ltd., Catering Solutions Pte. Ltd., Hermes-Epitek Corporation Pte. Ltd., Insphere Technology Pte. Ltd., Reetz Pte. Ltd., and Universal Success Enterprises Pte. Ltd. Entrepreneurs Jeffrey Guao, Douglas Tan, Samantha Teo, Chen Chiyong, Markus Sia, Pappu Milind Suresh, S. Mahendran, Jeffrey Kong, and Shambunath Ray were also part of the group.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently met Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, reviewed the progress of India-Singapore relations. The leaders agreed to upgrade the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, acknowledging Singapore's significant investment in the Indian economy, which totals around USD 160 billion.

They also witnessed MoUs' exchange in areas like Semiconductors, Digital Technologies, Skill Development, and Healthcare, outcomes of the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtables. (ANI)
