Additional search efforts revealed a bottle of petrol and matchboxes at the site, pointing to a possible sabotage attempt. Immediate investigations were launched by Uttar Pradesh's Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) and other agencies. Senior officials swiftly reached the spot to assess the situation.

Top officials have formed five teams led by senior personnel to probe the incident further. The railway authorities filed an FIR against unidentified individuals, citing it as a sabotage attempt under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Explosives Act, and the Railways Act. Additionally, the state's political leadership assured stringent actions against the perpetrators.
