The civil aviation ministry is actively addressing the multiple issues faced by SpiceJet, Union Minister K Rammohan Naidu revealed on Monday. This effort aims to balance airline operations amid surging demand in the Indian market.

SpiceJet is currently grappling with financial and legal troubles. On August 29, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) escalated its oversight by placing the airline under enhanced surveillance, which includes increased spot checks and night monitoring to ensure operational safety.

'We are looking at SpiceJet... with the demand we have, we need more airlines to operate. So we are trying to have a balance and address the problems and (ensure the) airline runs properly,' the Minister said. The civil aviation ministry is also monitoring airfares and will suggest measures if prices steeply rise.
