The Vande Bharat Express traveling from New Delhi to Varanasi experienced a technical hiccup on Monday, causing an unexpected halt between Bharthana and Samho stations in Etawah district, officials reported.

To address the situation, the Railways swiftly organized alternative transport for the stranded passengers.

Amit Singh, Public Relations Officer for North Central Railway Prayagraj Division, informed PTI that train number 22436 encountered an engine fault soon after departing Bharthana station around 9 am. Efforts by the technical team were made to rectify the issue while a relief engine was dispatched from Sarai Bhupat station, reaching the train by 10:24 am and towing it back to Bharthana.

Subsequently, from Kanpur, a special train was arranged by around 2:45 pm to facilitate the continuation of the passengers' journey to Varanasi.
