During an interaction with students at the University of Texas in Dallas, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the pressing issue of unemployment in India and the West, contrasting it with China's robust manufacturing sector. Gandhi pointed out India's need to align itself with production to foster job creation and economic growth.
He stressed that India does not lack skills but instead suffers from a lack of respect for skilled labor. Gandhi advocated for a stronger emphasis on vocational training to bridge the gap between the education system and the business world, thereby boosting the manufacturing sector.
On his four-day trip to the US, Gandhi also plans to meet lawmakers and senior government officials, seeking to galvanize support for his vision of a revitalized Indian manufacturing sector. He warned that ignoring production could lead to severe social problems and political polarization in India and the West.
