A major fire erupted at a shop located at Ghutiari Sharif railway station in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on Sunday, according to fire brigade sources.
The fire, which started at around 10:30 am on platform number one, quickly spread to other stalls, resulting in a frantic evacuation of passengers.
Railway police and fire brigade personnel promptly intervened, managing to put off the fire. Two fire engines were deployed to tackle the blaze, which led to temporary train service disruptions in the Sealdah-South section for passenger safety.
