In a heartbreaking incident over the Labour Day weekend, four Indian nationals lost their lives in a multi-vehicle accident in Texas. The tragedy unfolded on the northbound US 75 near Dallas when a speeding truck rear-ended an SUV, resulting in a fatal collision that set the vehicle on fire.
The victims were identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampatti, Farooq Sheikh, Lokesh Palacharla, and Darshini Vasudev. According to Consul General of India in Houston, D C Manjunath, the Consulate General of India is in contact with the affected families and community organizations, providing support through this difficult time.
The collision took place as traffic was at a standstill on the highway. The impact and subsequent fire left the bodies charred beyond recognition, requiring DNA testing for identification. The victims were students and professionals pursuing their careers in the US. Their families are now working to bring their remains back to India.
