Tata Motors is stepping up its game in the SUV segment by launching the mid-size SUV coupe, Curvv, aiming to secure its position in a highly competitive market dominated by South Korean and Japanese automakers.
The Mumbai-based auto giant unveiled the Curvv on Monday, offering both petrol and diesel powertrains, with prices starting at Rs 9.99 lakh. This follows the earlier reveal of the electric variant of the model in August.
The Curvv will face stiff competition from established models such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and others. However, Tata Motors believes that Curvv's unique SUV coupe body style and premium features will give it an edge. The company is also planning a 10-15% expansion in its dealership network to support this launch.
