Kolkata Metro has reached a historic milestone by surpassing Rs 1 crore in passenger fare earnings in a single day, an official announced on Sunday.

A Kolkata Metro Railway spokesperson reported that around 6.75 lakh passengers traveled across three metro lines on Saturday, resulting in over Rs 1.01 crore in total earnings from fares and online recharges.

The Blue Line (Dakshineswar-New Garia) served approximately 5.75 lakh passengers, while both segments of the Green Lines (Sector Five-Sealdah, Esplanade-Howrah Maidan) collectively transported around 50,000 passengers. Furthermore, Sunday services on Green Line-2 commenced from September 1, according to the spokesperson.
