The Himachal Pradesh government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Dubai-based firm to facilitate overseas job placements for the state's youth. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was present during the signing ceremony, underscoring the initiative's significance.
The MoU was formalized by Deputy Director of Employment, Sandeep Thakur, on behalf of the state, and Tariq Chauhan, CEO of EFS Facilities Services Group Limited. The Chief Minister handed appointment letters to several candidates, who are set to begin work on Saudi Arabia's NEOM city project by September.
This agreement aims to generate substantial employment opportunities in sectors like hospitality, technical services, and office support. The Labor and Employment Department has been tasked with ensuring the well-being of these employees via the Mukhya Mantri Sewa Sankalp Helpline. EFS plans to hire up to 1,000 candidates from Himachal Pradesh annually, with no recruitment fees ensuring protection from exploitation.
