NCOL Partners with Uttarakhand for Organic Cereals Procurement

The National Co-operative Organics (NCOL) has formalized a partnership with the Uttarakhand government by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Friday. The agreement aims to offer better rates to farmers for their organic cereals.
The signing ceremony included notable dignitaries such as Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Uttarakhand Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi, and other high-ranking officials. Shah encouraged farmers to adopt 100% organic farming, emphasizing its potential to increase incomes and improve public health.
NCOL Chairman Meenesh Shah linked the increase in diseases like cancer and diabetes to chemical fertilisers, advocating for a shift to organic farming. NCOL plans to establish a network of testing labs in collaboration with Amul to create trusted organic brands.
