Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated that Odisha is poised to contribute significantly to India's economic growth, positioning itself as a growth engine by 2047.

Speaking at the 'Resurgent Odisha 2024' business conclave, organized by Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited in collaboration with the MSME Department, Majhi outlined ambitious economic targets for the state. He projected the economy to reach Rs 41 lakh crore by 2036 and a 1.5 trillion-dollar mark by 2047.

Majhi stressed the importance of balancing industrialization with agricultural needs, given the state's agrarian nature. The government plans to focus on both large-scale industries and SMEs, including agro-based sectors, to create employment opportunities. Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain highlighted initiatives to attract investments, bolster exports, and establish Odisha as a leading industrial hub.
