Srikumar Rao Appointed as Global Head at Wipro Engineering Edge

Srikumar Rao is appointed as the Global Head of Wipro Engineering Edge, succeeding Harmeet Chauhan. Rao, a veteran with 26 years at Wipro, will report to CEO Srinivas Pallia. This role involves scaling Wipro’s engineering capabilities and defining growth strategies for the ER&D Services business. Rao has an extensive academic and professional background.

Wipro Ltd announced on Friday the appointment of Srikumar Rao as the Global Head of Wipro Engineering Edge, effective October 5, 2024.

Rao will replace Harmeet Chauhan, who is leaving to pursue opportunities outside the organization. According to a company release, Rao will report directly to Wipro CEO Srinivas Pallia.

In his new role, Rao will oversee the scaling and strengthening of Wipro's engineering prowess and define growth strategies for the company's Engineering and R&D Services business. He is also tasked with providing AI-first products, solutions, and experiences.

With 26 years of experience at Wipro, Rao has held various leadership roles, most recently serving as COO of Wipro Engineering Edge and Global Practice Head of Embedded Systems. CEO Pallia highlighted Rao's journey from a campus recruit to a top leadership role as a testament to his dedication, expertise, and client-centric approach.

Rao holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the College of Engineering Pune and a Postgraduate Program in Software Enterprise Management from IIM Bangalore. He will be based in Bengaluru.
